Any EMC facility will have normally required a considerable financial investment, in order to protect this investment it is essential to undertake a program of planned maintenance.
All EMC facilities have an entrance/exit door which is the most vulnerable working part of a shielded enclosure. Any accidental damage or routine wear and tear to the door will have a dramatic effect on the original RF integrity of the chamber.
Planned maintenance is designed to ensure a customers shielded enclosure is always kept in peak condition. Each chamber has its own flow of traffic and usage which will determine the frequency of maintenance required. A typical schedule is detailed below:
- All doors and access panel will be thoroughly inspected. Extreme care will be taken to fully clean and lubricate all of the RF seals, this includes finger stock, vinyl seals, Z springs and all knife edge and blade contact surfaces.
- All doors should be inspected monthly and maintained every 6 months to ensure their RF integrity.
- All door hinges, plates and hinge pins will be thoroughly inspected and checked for alignment and potential wear. Any adjustment required will be completed at this point.
- Latching mechanism of doors and access panels will inspected. Any defective or worn out components which cannot be repaired will be replaced. (All parts charged at cost).
- All Roller Cams and Cam Blocks will be inspected and lubricated with silicone grease.
To accurately assess your planned maintenance requirements it will be necessary to undertake an initial assessment by way of a site survey.
